We
specialize in Quality, Custom Cow Hides and Cowhide Rugs
We are
unquestionably the Internet’s largest producer of quality,
custom cowhide rugs, usually having one or two in
production at all times. We will ship most anywhere in the
world, having recently finished 3 rugs for a customer in
Switzerland. No designer cowhide is too large or too
small for us to make, as long as it is either a square or a
rectangle. For an additional fee, we can even make octagon
shaped rugs. Even though we can easily make smaller custom cow
hides, most of our custom orders are for cowhides 6x8 ft. in
size and larger. For example, out of the last nine custom rugs
we have made for customers, we didn’t have any cowhide less
than 6x8 in size.
We usually make rugs
using squares of cowhide measuring anywhere from 8 to 16 inches in
dimension. For additional fees, we can even use pieces up to 4
ft square. The seams are “invisible” in that they can only
be seen from the back and are not like the “laced” cow hides
that are so common today. These “laced” cowhide rugs use
plastic “lacing” for the thread that is visible from the
top. Although pretty, the lace makes for a very informal look.
The seams of our designer cow hide rugs are sewn from the
bottom, producing what is called an “invisible” seam. This
gives each cowhide rug a much richer, sophisticated look.
The
Finest Quality “Hair-on” Cow Hide Rugs
Come From Brazil and Argentina
The finest quality
“hair-on” cow hides in the world come from Brazil and
Argentina. Brazil’s tanning process actually produces a softer
cow hide rug, which makes them more desirable when one wants
just the full cow hide. On the other hand, Argentina’s
slightly stiffer tanning process is better suited when making up
a cowhide rug consisting of multiple squares sewn together. As a
result, most of our custom cow hide rugs come from Argentina.
Your
Cow Hide Rug Can Come in Most any Natural Cowhide Color or
Pattern
Even though we can
theoretically make your custom cow hide any color, most of the
designer cowhide rugs that we manufacture consist of one or two
colors, as most cows have only one or two colors in their hides.
In addition, these one or two-toned cowhides are very easily
done.
However, cow hide
rugs consisting of more than two colors can be quite complicated
to make. As a result, it becomes very difficult to arrange the
many different pieces in such a way that the customer knows how
it’s going to look. As a result, we try to “shy” away from
getting too many colors in the rug.
We
Can Also Dye Cow Hides
In Order to Produce A Solid Colored Cowhide Rug
Many customers want
their designer cowhide rug all one color. The only way to do
that is to dye the different cow hides. Even then, your cow hide
rug will still have a slightly “patched” look, as no two cow
hide skins will accept the dye the same way.
(Dying the separate
cowhides will add $10 per square foot to the overall price.)
Most
of our Designer Custom Cowhides Are Made In South America
Most of our custom
cowhide rugs are manufactured in South America. However,
for quality control purposes, from time to time, some rugs have
to be made in the United States. However labor costs are
infinitely more in the US so the vast majority are made in South
America.
How
we Price our Designer Cowhide Rugs
As
can be expected, custom orders are extremely labor and time
intensive. and thus are quite costly. All of our custom
cowhide rugs have a base price of $19.50 per square foot. This
includes most any cowhide rug made in South America.
Dying your cowhides
will add $10.00 per square foot.
Talking about the
price: for someone who has never priced things even remotely
similar to our designer cow hide rugs before, these prices can
be a bit startling. However, rugs like this are generally only
found in exclusive boutiques or furniture stores where very
simple cow hide pieces can easily cost $35 to $40 per square
foot. In other words, a standard 6x8 ft cow hide rug consisting
of 48 square feet can easily cost $1600-$1900 in most any retail
store, whereas our price would normally be only $936.
The cost of any
item is always relevant to what something will
generally cost in the Marketplace. Not only are our prices
substantially lower than what is generally found…our quality
is unsurpassed!
All this helps explain
why we are the largest producer of quality custom cow
hides on the Internet, and probably the largest in the Country.
Refund
Policy For Custom Rugs
Since
custom rugs are made to order in a particular size and color,
there can be no refunds or exchanges once production starts. Our
guarantee to you is that your rug or bedspread will be of
superior quality made by expert craftsmen and easily within the
color range that we have agreed on.
Again, once we begin actual production, there will be no refund.
However, one can cancel their order up to the point that we
begin gathering the hides or skins. Up to this time, a customer
can cancel their order and only pay a 15% pre-production fee.
